Can a horizontal spandrel beam rest and bear continuously on top of a CFS stud wall, of sufficient strength, thus requiring strength only in the major-axis, normal to the vertical plane of the wall, and further, eliminating the need to design for minor-axis vertical deflection?

Am I making myself clear?

Thank you ...

What you propose is possible in theory, but most likely impractical. The steel would be erected first, and would not have the steel stud wall to bear on, correct?

If the spandrel beam can be erected after the steel stud wall, then what you propose is OK.
