Hello Everyone -

I have run into an issue with NX 8.5.2. One of the engineers has reported to me that their drafting sheets are always out of date when they open an existing drawing. They must force the update to occur.

I am running the exact same version of NX on my machine, without an issue. My drawings automatically update the second I open the drawing. The customer defaults file is stored on the network, and I have confirmed that we are both using the same defaults file.

I have investigated the Drafting preferences in the session as well as the customer defaults (including drafting standards), and I cannot find anything that would cause this discrepancy. Is there a switch to toggle to force the sheet to update?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi cowski -

Thanks for the rapid reply, but I knew that trick. I guess I should of stated that I tried delay view update. I have unchecked that one and I still have a problem. That selection is also hiding in the customer defaults and both are unchecked. That doesn't seem to solve this problem.

Note that changing the Customer Default will have NO impact on existing parts since this setting is part specific meaning that it only effect new BLANK parts created by the software. Any template that is being used needs to be opened, the preference changed and the refiled. That being said, I think you will find that in the long run it is better if the Delay option is toggled ON. After a while it gets a little old if everytime I open a drawing I have to wait for it to update. most users find it better to make their changes and edits, then update the drawing before saving it.
