We have provided a bridge beam over a 150mm dia surface water pipe as shown in the attached drawing.
It is buried approx. 2.28m below ground level.
The concrete sill (0.9m wide x 0.8m deep) in the attached drawing is designed to a bearing pressure of 50kN/m2
We have been asked if there is a need to bridge over this pipe at all based on the depth it is located at.
How do we go about proving that our loads are within acceptable limits for the pipe?
