Trying to make threads on a bolt or pipe in Autcad 3D

How can I make threads on a bolt in autcad. I know how to make 3D objects but can't figure out how to make threads. I don't think it is possible to draw on the Z axis so I am at a loss. Thank -You

Threads are a royal pain. Search this forum. I don't think anyone has a good viable solution.
