Is it possible to perform analysis with shell meshing of varibale thickness in DesignSpace?

I believe you will need DesignModeler module add-on license for this. You can then bring your model as shells into workbench and perform your analysis.

Workbench cannot do Shell Analysis. You can import a surface, then define a thickness and he'll mesh it as a solid.

No, it uses shell elements. When it plots the elements, it displays the elements with the real constant set turned on (just like /eshape,1,1 in ANSYS classic).

Shell elements ARE used
