Hi,

I am using ANSYS Mechanical APDL to do a non-linear analysis of a rectangular section hollow-box beam. I am using a stress-strain curve from previous tensile test to the material (structural steel), in the Mises isotropic hardening model.
I am also defining the Young's modulus value, Poisson coefficient and density. I am applying a compressive/simple bending load on the top face of the beam. I am constraning the bottom area. I tried many load amplitudes, but I am always getting a linear Load-Displacement relationship. Mesh is refined as much as my pc allows. Any help appreciated regarding of what is preventing plasticity behaviour from being computed.

Thank you,
