Is it true that the relations browser for wave is broke in NX 9.0.2.5 Rev C. That’s what my IT guy is telling me. When I run the relations browser I get this error.

&MACRO MESSAGE_TEXT No Java Author License is available to be able to run this java class file.

The NX is installed on the server.
I do not have a “D” or and “O” drive.

The versions of Java that I have is 1.7.0_21 I tried a newer version 1.7.0_65 but that broke my help files so I switched back to 21.

MR 9.0.3 is out; in the 'fixed PRs' document it claims to have fixed PR 1979811 - NX Relations Browser : Relations are no longer shown. Looks like you should download & test the latest MR.

I just tested it and the 'Relations Browser' is working in NX 9.0.3.4.

hi,
this seem s to be a problem with the GMtoolkit,
check (search for) UGII_JAVA_HOME from Help->logfile if the folder exist

Unfortunately I can’t switch to a newer version till GM does. UGII_JAVA_HOME is pointed to the my local install of JAVA 1.7.0_21 64bit. Unwam2ie does the relations browser work for you?

GM toolkit states:
The GM environment uses JAVA 1.7.0_55, (per Siemens, any 1.7.0_XX above 55 should work but JAVA 1.6 and 1.8 are not supported at this time). GM also highly recommends you do NOT set JAVA to auto-update as even Oracle’s minor JAVA 1.7 updates earlier this year have caused security warnings and errors.

I would check if updating to the specified Update 55 fixes it. Also make sure that you have the following variables set to the right locations for your Java install.
In my case they are:
UGII_JAVA_HOME C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_25
UGII_JVM_LIBRARY_DIR C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_25\bin\server

As for your help, we made a video a while back that explains how to fix the Java issues for the documentation:

PhoeNX Thanks for the info. I did change Java to 1.7 update 55 and I still get an error.

did you set the variables as I suggested?
I had a customer of mine ring in with the same problem as you and the fix was to set the variables correctly

The 2 java settings are pointing to the correct location.

I just ran a test with GM toolkit and 9.0.2.5 Rev C and the relations browser works.
Do you still get the same error as before or has the error changed?

Turns out the problem is a license issue vs a signed jar file (PR1992230):

This error is caused by a missing signing for the Java Jar file:

"NX 9.0\nxassembly\NxBrowser\server.jar"

The issue will be fixed in NX 9.0.3.
If urgent GTAC can make a signed server.jar available.

Our licenses have a java_author license so that's why I couldn't see the error.
When I tested with a license without java_author, I got the error message you've been seeing.

Solution is to update to NX9.0.3 (I know GM is 9.0.2.5 Rev C) or contact GTAC, refer to PR 1992230 and ask for a signed server.jar file.
