Reaction force from relief valves 1

hi,

when a relief valve opens it produces a reaction force, how to calculate or predict the reaction force along the outlet line from the relief valve.

When the valve opens, there is first a transient, followed by a steady state force.

Take a look to the ASME Code B31.1 Appendix II. The whole appendix is dedicated to this topic. It has some general guidelines for steam applications
