Hello everyone,

since 1 week i have 2 monitors on my workstation. I think that this is very convenient. Now on my 1st monitor i awlays have an assembly, and on my second monitor i have some part from this assembly. My question is there a way that every time I make some changes on the part, all the changes appear ditectly in the assembly on the other monitor. Because at the moment I have to save the part, then close the assembly, and then open it again....

Thank you.

I assume that you're actually running two different sessions of NX at the same time, correct?

And I also assume that the parts that you're editing on the one screen, running one session, are components that are used in the Assembly on the other screen running the other session of NX, correct?

OK, once you make a change to a part file and save it, go to the session where the Assembly is loaded and go to...

File -> Close -> Close and Reopen All Modified Parts

...and you will be asked if you really want to close the parts and you say 'Yes' and then ONLY the parts which have been changed AND saved SINCE you first opened the Assembly will be closed and the newly edited versions of these parts will opened and will replace them.

So YES, you do NOT have to unload the entire Assembly and reload it. The workflow described above will ONLY effect the parts which have actually been changed and saved since you opened the Assembly.

Thank you JohnRBaker,

it works, but is it possible when NX reopens only changed parts in the assembly, not to change the view also.Because now it returns the assembly in the viewing angle left during last save and i have to adjust my view angle again to see how these changes affect everything.

Orient your view to the desired position then either:
1) save the view
or
2) save a bookmark (which essentially saves the view)
after you reopen the modified parts, reorient your view or apply the bookmark. Your view will return to where you had it.

Thanks for all the answers, now I am thinking - is it possible to open just one NX (not two like in the previous case)and move one of the windows (the assembly for example)on the other screen. Because now I cannot move a window outside the NX frame.

While you can have more than one part 'open' at a time during a single session of NX, only one part can be displayed at a time. In other words, you can't open two different display windows showing two different part files and be able to switch from one window to the other to work on the different parts while running only a single session of NX.
