I've been digging around all day, but no luck. Has anyone had any luck overmolding to Ultem? If so, what TPE did you use? "we all come into the world the same way, naked, screaming and covered in blood. If you live right, that kind of thing doesn't have to stop there!"

Nico13,

I have successfully overmolded Santoprene over Ultem.
You should be able to overmold just about any TPE over Ultem, since Ultem is a high heat material. Although your design of the Ultem part may have to incorporate certain features to help secure the TPE to the Ultem.

Thank you very much! That's good to keep in mind, although between my post and your reply the powers that be are moving us to a Bayer Makroblend for the substrate and Bayer's Texin for the TPE. Keeping it all in the family :) "we all come into the world the same way, naked, screaming and covered in blood. If you live right, that kind of thing doesn't have to stop there!"
