Oil in Water Analyzer Types

Hello Members,

i need to buy 2 oil in water analyzers for my FPSO project . the vendors we approched (inov8s and Advanced sensors) had 2 types of LIF(laser induced flouresence) Models in their portfolio 1) Side stream type 2) inline type . I was not able to distinguish between both technically as they claimed almost same pros for both types. Have you guys had any experiece with either of the two. Does sidestream ones(generally more expensive) have any special advantages compared to inline types.?

What is the function of this analyser - to obtain total oil in water or only free oil in water? Ask the client for guidance - they usually have folks well versed in these. From an operations perspective, NONE of these actually work - they all get coated with gummy corrosion inhibitor, dirt, salts within a few days of operation. Better to do an offline lab analysis with a field sample.
