How can I measure a thick (.25") layer section of fabric that is molded completely in rubber? Though about laying a piece of steel wire cloth down first and then on the back side of the fabric section. Then mold all inside the rubber. Rather not have a metallic insert. Is there industrial technology (excluding x-ray or MRI) that will scan and detect a layer of cotton fabric that is molded inside a rubber product? Thanks, Awol

Hi, Awol
I succeeded in measuring the thickness of the rubber layers of conveyorbelts with ultrasonics. Conveyorbelts with fabrick carcas and belts with steelcords inside.
I used 2 MHz and 5 Mhz probes. You must have a testpiece and then look and compare.

Succes
