I currently have a BS in Mechanical Engineering. I am interested in a Masters in Metallurgy. Does anyone know of a university where I can get a Masters in Metallurgy through a distance learning or online program?

Thanks.

Phil

PhilBW;
You may have a tough time with using the phrase “Master in Metallurgy” because universities that offer advanced degrees either on-line or through distance learning will offer a Master of Engineering, with emphasis on either Materials or Materials science/engineering. Many universities that once offered a metallurgical engineering degree have modified their program to a Materials Science or Materials Engineering program.

I agree with metengr. Purdue University has a nice distance learning program that includes Metallurgical Engineering classes.

Also look at New Mexico Tech.

Thanks for your responses. Searching for a degree in Material Science instead of Metallurgy gave me lots of results.

School of Mines in Rapid City SD, Don't know if they have a masters program.

Also try Florida, Auburn, USC, and NC State.

Va. Tech too. Guess where I went.
Maybe also, Colorado School of Mines, OH State, RPI, Purdue, Case Western, etc.
