I don't even look for this stuff... I just see it... and if I can, I'll incorporate it into my design; I'm a big copy-cat... One interesting thing was some decorative framing at the Eaton's Centre in Toronto... It was an upper beam supported by a post at mid span, which framed onto a lower a lower beam and the lower beam had diagonal HSS ties to the ends of the upper beam... like a king's post support. I use this for Vista Cargo design, picking up 'real loads'. Worked like a charm...
