I'm Designing a Jetty Wall for the docking of boats on an inland freshwater lake. The wall consists of Concrete Manhole Rings filled with concrete. The Wall is Anchored to the Bedrock at the bottom by grouting reinforcing bars into the rock and anchored at the top by tying a reinforced capping beam back to the slab on grade. Can anyone give me any pointers as to what force from wave action should the wall be designed to ensure it remains pinned at the bottom. The total height of wall is approximately 2.0m. The Manhole rings are placed on a bed of crushed rock to ensure they are level before the concrete is tremied into the rings. Kieran

I don't know the answer to your question but I wonder. Have you also considered forces related to ice?
