Is it possible to add more scale ratios to the base view dialog? I use a lot ratios that fall between the standard ratios and it would be nice to have them defined in the ratio pulldown in the base view dialog.

I think you know that you can make the base view any scale you want.
If you are looking for more scales in the pull-down ~ I doubt if you can do that without extra programming

The reason I am asking is because manufacturing has many dialogs which are customizable and I'm always looking for reduced user input to complete a given task. Some menus have ascii text files and some can even be customized graphically; almost like a html wysiwyg editor.

As an alternative, you could create a series of Drawing templates with predefined views already set to your most frequently used non-standard view scales.

Is there a way to set the template view scale and enforce it? I've been working with a drawing template recently; I added a dummy component slightly larger than the parts I plan to detail and set the view scale to 1:1. When I use the template on my actual part, the views get changed to 1:2 scale. I created an expression in the drawing template and tied the scale of the views to the expression value just so the drawings would stay at 1:1 scale.

Creating templates with predefined views sounds like a good idea, but in my experience they don't work. What did I do wrong? Nevermind, don't answer here; I don't want to hijack this thread. I'll start a new thread on the topic.

you can have the view scales on the drawing driven by an expression, and then you can figure out how to work from there, for now that's the best that I can do for you
