I have a part that has a hole through it. The tolerance on the hole is relatively large. +/.06 of an inch.

When we received the part, the supplier machined two ends, and at the different ends of the tolerance, and it has a step in the middle of the hole.

See attached PDF. We do not want this step, and want it to be a through bore without any step.

Is there a place in the standard that discuss steps in a bore, or since this machined feature is all with in the feature of size, does this part match the Feature of size that is on the print?
Thanks for any inputs on this.

Technically correct is the best kind of correct!

Five years from now this will be a "that's why we put this note on the drawing" stories.

It would fail to meet a surface roughness requirement.
