High temperature pipe tape

Does anyone know of a pipe coating system for steel pipe under insulation? We looking at a carbon steel line operating at 98C (but design temperature is 180C). This duty has seen surface corrosion under the insulation due to water ingress. The water forms a convection cell under the cladding and condenses on the pipe surface.

We have a painting option but are there simpler tape systems?

The best way is to avoid water ingress, but assuming you have some and your pipe shuts down and cools down for long enough to get condensation then depends on what temp you want to use.

180C is rather high for any sort of tape or PE/ PP / epoxy system and you might be into something like Thermally Sprayed Aluminium (TSA). Not cheap but very good.

Don't use tape, the line will corrode even faster once the tape starts to disbond. You can get tapes with service temp to about 110C, but not to 180C. Look at an epoxy instead.

Wrap with heavy Al foil, and then seal the outside better.
This isn't as good as TSA, but costs less.
The Al will act as a sacrificial anode and help delay pipe corrosion.
Your temp is about the worst, hot enough to dry the pipe sometimes, but not enough to keep it dry.

We have found ployguard reactive gel. Has anyone used it?

IMO, compared to the tapes, CUI painting should be the easiest way to applied on the pipe.
