Please, I would like to know the standard procedure when a drawing is modified prior to tender; that means, after signing and uploading it to our internal digital library that is accessed by our company employees. Is it appropriate to follow the same revision procedure used for revisions for drawings that have been issued in the tender phase? (revision number, change description, etc.)

I really appreciate your response.

MaSaav,

The ASME Y14.100 series specs don't really give a distinction for 'preliminary' status drawings etc.

Also, this forum leans toward mechanical 'machine parts' type drawing rather than construction - If you want construction industry specific suggestions I'm not sure this is the best forum.

That said, if the drawings are being sent out for quote etc. you need some kind of revision control so 'rev 1' means the same to all vendors etc. and doesn't change over time.

Now you may decide to abbreviate the approval process or similar but fundamentally if you change the drawing and it goes to anyone outside of the drafter/engineer/approval loop you should probably have some kind of rev change & control.

Might get away with a date printed stamp but it may not be as robust.

Forgot to say, you could look in forum781 but not sure that forum has much more construction industry traffic either.
