Dome Feature.

As a newbie to solidworks,i would appreciate some help on a project i am learning on,i have a square solid extrusion,what i am trying to do is put a circular inward dome feature to form a hemispherical combustion chamber,when i sketch the circle,and use the Dome feature it selects the whole face,i can not just select the circle,any help would be greatly appreciated.

use split for Dome

Use the circle to create a circular split face on the surface and use that face for inward dome.
