Is there any way to dissolve a component pattern so all the parts in that pattern can then be moved independently, and any mating parts to the patterned components would keep there relation?

dissolve a pattern

Expand the pattern in the model tree. Select all the of the "elements" of the pattern EXCEPT number one. RMB and select Independent. Now all the parts are independent of the pattern.
