Hi folks,

I'm using iLevel's "Parallam Plus" beams for an exterior deck, and they provide reduced allowable design stresses to be used due to the pressure treating. Do I also need to apply the Cm factor? Seems to me that's like double dipping. I've tried calling iLevel but apparently they're really short staffed and aren't able to take calls...

never fails - iLevel just called back. so, no, you don't use Cm with their already reduced values.

Per their attached pdf. A free download from "The allowable design stresses take into account the effects of treating and end-use moisture content (MC)."

As EOR's we should take the responsibility to design our structures to support the components we allow in our design per that industry standards.
