Hello,
I have braced frame with column footings. I have 50 kip lateral shear. Both footings are isolated. I will check footing for sliding using soil friction and passive pressure. I will assume footing takes all lateral shear, slab on grade is not count.
Now question is to check overturning for footing i have to add moment due to hori. load.
Say my footing is 36 in deep. so i have (50kip*3 ft = 150 kip ft additional moment. do i have to count that to check for soil pressure?
Now say if i will add grade beam between two braced frame footing, then to check the footing do i have to consider this additional moment.
