What is an effective adhesive for bonding Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) film? I am using plasma as a pre-surface treatment. The application is high pressure and with water.

Victrex literature says epoxy.

It says cleaned with solvent then dried.

It says surface roughening, flame treatment or etching with chromic acid all improve the bond strength, flame by about 20% and chromic by about 30%.

Epoxy resins give from 0.45 to 5.38mpa bond strength depending on type, surface preparation and method of application.

Hylobond F300 AB 450 CA30 on a solvent cleaned and 80 grit sandblasted surface gave best results.

Pat
