What is the general or most common type of 17-4 used in the oil and gas industry, mainly in valve design? 17-4PH or another type.

It is the PH alloy, either 17-4 or in heavy sections where toughness needed 15-5PH.
Often aged to H1100 or H1150 for better cracking resistance. If you can live with less strength then H1150M overaged is even tougher.

if Nace requirement is applicable, double aging shall be carried out, which means that the condition H1150DBL or H1150M shall be the one applicable
