is that really curing concrete?

is that really curing concrete?

is that really curing concrete?

(OP)
Is it possible to extrapolate the addition of an admixture to fresh concrete mix like Polar-Set from the "or other accepted processes" section cited below.  The ad-mix does, after all, cause an accelerated strength gain, but, on the other hand, there is no addition of moisture involed.

ACI-318 5.11.3.1 — Curing by high-pressure steam, steam
at atmospheric pressure, heat and moisture, or other
accepted processes, shall be permitted to accelerate
strength gain and reduce time of curing.

RE: is that really curing concrete?

This product is a non-chloride set accelrator and conforms to ASTM C494 Type C.

Curing should conform to ACI 318 Section 5.11.2....3 days min curing...curing temp >50 deg F

Check with a Grace rep to ascertain if indeed curing per Sec 5.11.2 is acceptable

RE: is that really curing concrete?

boffintech...to answer your first question...NO!

Admixtures do not cure concrete.  It is particularly important to properly cure when set changing (retarder or accelerator) admixtures are used.
