Good coating for fine pitch threads on 300 series s.s.?

Good coating for fine pitch threads on 300 series s.s.?

I have a series of concentric sleeves that pilot onto one another via their OD surfaces, and then engage with a fine pitch thread.  I'd like to coat the entire part, with emphasis on coating the threads to prevent gallling and also providing a hard, low friction surface for the pilot surfaces.

So far I've thought about titanium nitride or just electrolyzing the parts, any other suggestions?  The threads are 1-1/2" to 2" in diameter, with 40 threads per inch. (odd size, I know, but I need that pitch)

What are the parts made from?

Whoops - sorry, should have mentioned that.  I plan on using 300 series S.S., probably 303.

PVD titanium nitride should work -- we coat 300 series stainless quite often.  There are some PVD solid lubricant coatings on the market that would give you very low friction coefficients.  These are generally more expensive.
