we have crashed the head numerous times and sometimes the Z-censor connector gets broken and we have to replace it, well the wire that gets soldered to the connector is very short now VERY, so my question is can you open up the cone and replace that wire or do i have to replace the whole cone witch i know can be very expensive?? Thanks in advance!!

you can open it up if you want, just heat it up first to soften the lock-tite. However what we did was put a crimp socket on the end of the wire so we don't need to solder anymore. a size 20 socket (same used in Dsub connectors). it will also lengthen your wire so yo don't have to try to redo the mechanical connection at other end of wire which on ours is drilled then wire is peened in.

Allied (newark and digikey has them too)
RF Connector: Amphenol 142166
Socket Pin: TE Connectivity 205090-1

even the radioshack pins that come with the D-Sub connectors work.

The only thing I could add is that the little wire has some high temp insulation on it. If you add a piece to it, please use the same or similar.
