Does anyone know of a publication, web site, or example that would show me how to analyze wood shear walls with multiple openings utilizing the force transfer around openings method? My research has not come up with anything but a pre-made spreadsheet for one opening. Utilizing what I think the procedure should be I couldn’t match the spreadsheet’s output. Thus either the spreadsheet is incorrect, unlikely, or I am doing something wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

Look in Breyer's book "Design of Wood Structures ASD/LRFD". See page 10.23 (Example 10.6) for a very good example problem that they walk you through. It is only for one opening, but you should be able to use the same procedure for more if needed. If you don't have the new book, I am sure an older version of the same book has an example.

Google 'perforated shear walls' you will no doubt find a number of papers.

sorry, but a goggle search of "perforated shear walls" primarly gives unreinforced openings.

Also check out the SEAOC seismic design manual, there is a good example there.
