Does any one know of any tested values of wood shear walls using staples?

Ask for ICBO Report No. 2403.

Who should I ask?

Call up the ICBO in Whittier, CA. They should be able to help.

CJSchwartz,
Table 2306.4.1 on page 450 of the 2006 IBC has allowable shear values for various nail or staple sizes. The same data is also available for diaphragms on Table 2306.3.1.
Don't forget that the values in the tables are for seismic loading and can be increased by 40% for wind loads as noted in Section 2306.3.2.
It is interesting, to me, that the 2001 NDS dosen't have the staple size shown on their tables for shearwalls & diaphragm capacities.
Hope that this helps.

Also look in ESR-1538 from ICC Evaluation Services
