Back to my last question, what do you use for the I of a multispan girder truss in your spreadsheet for those reactions? I guess you could use 1 and determine a ratio for each reaction? I like your idea of one workbook for the entire structure, currently we use our lateral spreadsheet to design the wood studs, diaphragms, shear walls, and holdowns. We use a second spreadsheet for beams, a separate one for columns, and foundation spreadsheets for both continuous footings and spot footings. Sharing pdfs are fine, sharing spreadsheets is never a good idea, and I wouldn't ask for them. I feel we can all benefit from seeing how others do things, many times someone else has a better idea. That is what prompted my post in the first place, wanting to see what others think about residential design, collectors, diaphragms, etc.
