I have to agree with Bradley. I think the tutorials that come packaged with SolidWorks are the best books out there. They are easy to read, cover all the basics, and are well written. By the end of a week, you should be proficient enough with SolidWorks to use it full time. Of course you will forget some things, but at least by doing the tutorials, you have been exposed to it.
If you are a hardcore, long-time user of AutoCAD, then SolidWorks are AutoCAD Users (by Greg Jankowski, Onworld Press) does a good job of explaining the differences between how AutoCAD and SolidWorks achieve the same results, It's worth a look.
