Does anyone know what these green arrows mean? 2

I got a stp file and imported it to Solidworks (2024). I noticed these green arrows (pointing to left) on sub-assembly icons in SW design tree. See image below. Does anyone know what they mean?

It means they are an imported assembly.

The 3D interconnect option is turned on. What I do is I always break the link so I can save the files. I recently had an imported file that would not let me save it or do anything with it because it was externally referencing a STEP file. Which I found odd. I was able to get around it by exporting the assembly out again as a Parasolid and importing it with the 3D interconnect disabled.

Thanks! That is exactly what I experienced. I was unable to save the component files (sub-assemblies and components). How did you break the link so you can save the files?

Usually, you can just right-click on each sub-assy or part and select Break link in the menu. It should break the link. If not, try turning off 3D interconnect and try again. Otherwise you might be better off exporting the whole thing and import the files and back in in a new folder with a prefix or suffix so they are all named different.
