Hi all

I use SolidWorks in the company I work. And now I am working on lay out design of some machines to be transfered to another part. Since I have noted that some softwares have a module called layout design, I was curious to know what are the particular things to be considered, apart from the space and availability of the machines, that has made the softwares to make a lay-out module ?

In the Solidworks world the layout tools are a method for design of machinery from top down, meaning starting with overall arrangement (layout) and ending with detailed design of each component sub-assembly. I don't think it is meant specifically for plant layout. although it could be used that way. Did you bother to read any of the help files or view any of the tutorials before you asked the forum?
