Welding Stainless steel plate to CASTING ASTM A216

Hello,

I have job where i am planning of welding a 1/4" thick stainless steel (SSTL 304) over the top of the hook . The hook material is ASTM A216, WCB.Any thoughts? .Any potential for cracking?See attachment
