Originally, we were GTAW-welding two tubes together, 4130 steel: .750 x .049 and 1.00x .049.(within a truss structure). Now the latter one is almost twice as thick: 1.00 x .083. Should we expect any problems? In fact, if no problems, I need some facts to submit to a cerification body, showing that there are no structural problems to be expected, after thickness has increased. Are there any sources that can be recommended, to substantiate that?

Please refer to thread725-63762 since there is already a similar discussion going on about this matter.
