Please clarify if the filler wire to be used for welding of SS 316Ti material is Er318Si? The service is 620 degree C. Or there is another alternative. My colleague insist to use Er347.

Filler material will depend on reason for selecting 316Ti as base material.

The question is why is material 316Ti selected for your equipment / pipe or what ever. Pitting resistance ,heat resistance or just because it was an available stainless steel?

In case of doubt I would use matching filler which is ER318 since it is stabilised and contains Mo.

You will need a filler with Mo and one that is stabilized. If you use the 347 the welds will have less corrosion resistance. If you use straight 316 the welds will not resist IG carbide formation.

Corrosion never sleeps, but it can be managed.

Other than less corrosion resistance,What will be the effect on the material 316Ti if this will be joined/welded by ER347? The service of the system is 620 degC temperature and 5 barg pressure.
