weldable rust proof coatings

I need to bring across the ocean parts of 8 guage carbon steel wire (rust is a concern). I need a cost effective rust proof coating that also has weldability once the parts reach the US.

I'm installing home standby generators in a coastal environment. Is there any product out there that can be sprayed on the steel cabinets to aid in rust prevention? The product would also have to have high temperature resistance as well from the exhaust which vents through the enclosure.

What about a product that can be sprayed on the innards for the same purpose?
