I am looking for suitable welding consumable and process for 316Ti weld overlay on body.

Body material is carbon steel to ASTM A 217 Gr WCB

Ok. Well, first off you will need to butter the carbon steel with 309 stainless steel to accommodate this weld, which is a dissimilar metal weld.

Second, welding process will be based on amount of the weld overlay. Manual SMAW or automatic GTAW are options. You need more information.

Third, filler metal for the overlay, once the 309 has been deposited, should be 316. You don't need the 316 Ti equivalent for the weld overlay.

Recommend first layer to be E/ER309LMo. If a stabilized, 316 type, final overlay is desired, use E/ER318 for subsequent layers.

There are some filler manufacturers that manufacture 316Ti type filler metals, but they can only be used with the GTAW process; Ti will be lost (oxidized) when using other welding processes.
