Hello I would like to export spline data points to a file in NX 7.5 for use in other programs. I have seen in other threads (for example, the linked one) here that you can do it with a Grip-Program. I have also tried out the attached Grip-Programs in these threads and they work fine, with one you could select and export points and with another you could select export a upper and a lower curve. What I need is a Grip-Program to select and export a simple spline/section/curve.. It would be greate if you could pick section after section and export them into separate files..

thanks in advance

By the way it would be greate if you could decided how many points you want to extract from the curve/section..

Bwsr regards

Erkka,

Extracting a determined number of points along the spline is possible using a journal. The real danger in this is that the accuracy of this data may not be good enough depending what you need to do with the data. Think of a spline with both reasonably flat regions and tight corners then the number of points in regions need to be increased as the radius of curvature decreases. On the otherhand if you wish to create an equivalent spline elsewhere then the spline creation data consisting of poles, degree and knots info would be more useful.
