The 2007 Edition of Division 2 was completely rewritten by ASME. All the concepts, even the method of paragraph numbering have been changed. Codeware was a contributing member to this ASME project, which has taken the ASME Modernization of Codes and Standards task force over 8 years to complete.
Under normal circumstances, the COMPRESS update for the new year's Edition/Addenda would include the update for Division 2 as well. However, due to the rewrite we were not able to release this Code at that time. ASME recognizes the problems that the rewrite presents to everyone involved and permits the use of the A06 Addenda Division 2 until July 2009 per Code Case 2575.
Codeware has found some significant editorial problems and errors in the rewrite as we have been programming the new rules in COMPRESS. It has become apparent that this will be a "long road" for us and ASME.
We are working very hard to get the new Division 2 rules implemented and are applying all the resources we have at our disposal to this important project. However, due to the fact that some of the issues are out of our hands (we must depend on ASME to resolve some of the technical issues in the new Code) at this time we cannot provide an anticipated release date.
