Hello,

I have a query regarding how to identify vibration limits for an equipment with multiple components. For example, a pump that is drive by motor.

For motor ISO 10816-3 identifies the vibration limits for electric driven in class 1 & 2 whereas class 3 & 4 are for pumps. So while defining the limits, the alarm for motor will be selected from 1&2 and similarly for motor from 3&4. Similarly, if a gearbox is involved how would we go about then?

you have to read the standard in totality....Lot of variables at play
kw rating of machine, kind of support foundation, speed of machine
for special machines often oem provide guidelines, where oem guidelines are not available one has to assess the condition based on available standards at hand..
when standards are not available, you can compare similar machines if you have multiple such machines at your site

setting alarm - follow what oem suggests...where oem guidelines not available, use relevant iso/api standard
