Is it possible to run PP in a tool that was intended to run ABS? What are the problems the molder may encounter? What about running PP in a tool intended for PC?
In general, you can run any material in any mold; however, the mold is made with a particular material in mind because the mold maker has to take the plastic material shrink rate into consideration. If the materials' shrink rates are close enough, you can get good parts out of the mold (I think PC and ABS are similar enough to do this). If the shrink rates differ too much, you won't get good parts (dimensions on the plastic parts won't match what you specified on the print - and no amount of fiddling with the process parameters will get them back to print).
