I have a slip critical connection which needs to be made in an existing plate. The holes are 2" diameter, so are too large for an A325/A490 bolt.
The erector has suggested using A354 BC or BD rods which appear to have very similar properties to the bolts.
Is anyone aware of any code issues with using this substitution in a non-seismic area?
