Does anyone know of a good source for timber standards on the web?

You can go to The American Wood Council, awc.org, and click on publications. There, you will find the NDS manual that has everything your looking for. You can pick up an NDS for about 25 bucks. Sorry, they don't give out the standards for free......yet.

I am interested in bracing guidelines for timber structures. Where can I get them?

Contact nkwera@yahoo.com

For wood truss bracing I suggest you contact Truss Plate Institute They have a publication:
Commentary and Recommendations for Handling, Installing and Bracing Metal Plate Connected Wood Trusses, HIB-91.
In addition, you may want to extend your research to this web site It provides links to several trade aasociations and their publications. Good Luck!
