Does anyone know if I can adjust the line thickness of a cell border around a table? This can be done in word and with drawn objects but in cell borders I can only see line styles.

Buffo:

Select the table, then go to "Format" and select "Cells..."
Click on the "Border" tab and you will be able to choose different line thicknesses for your table border.

Good Luck

Thanks for the reply jproj, however the thinnest solid line appears to be 3/4 pt thickness. I need to use a finer solid line of 1/4 pt thickness. This can be done on say a word table but seems to be fixed in excel.

Yes, it is fixed (Excel calls it Hairline/Thin/Medium/Thick)
Maybe you can work around things by using a text box; then you can specify the line width in points.

I dont know if this will help, but why not have table in excel, write a small macro (if not just cut and copy) to export the sheet to word and alter it there, Excel sheets are pretty user friendly when it comes to exporting.
