I'm interested in hearing for anyone who has experience with installing sychronous belts on reciprocating compressors. i.e. Theory aside I always like to know what 'really' happens in situations like this.
I'm dealing with 150hp, 200hp and 450hp reciprocating 'process' compressors.
In particular I am interested if anyone has verified/determined:
- how much motor slip increased
- detrimental effects of increased slip on certain motors
- increase in compressor rpm
- experience with passing a 'slug' or 'throwing' a rod
- saftey precautions used to accommodate above
- monitored impact on electrical use characteristics
regards
