hello,

I noticed that there is difference between construction and mechanical drawing.
Someone can please refer me to a standard in the ANSE/AICS for steel constructions drawings.
Standard that explain the symbols, explain how to create design drawing, shop-drawings and section cut.

best regards.

AISC has a book called "Detailing for Steel Construction" found here.

Also look at this paper: Strucural Steel Detailing Practices Good and Bad.

There are probably other references on the AISC.org site - do a search there.
Also - check out the AISC Code of Standard Practice which outlines various responsbilities in steel construction.

JAE hello,

Thank you for the detailed response.

I understand that there isn't a specific standard for construction drawings.

You might also look at the site of the National Institute of Steel Detailers.

They have publications and standards for USA work and maybe contact for others.

Jim

No, I do not believe there is an official document that say this is how you shall do it.
