Hello,

I am looking for a stress concentration chart for a rounded slot in bending. The only charts I have been able to find are the charts for tensile stresses. The shape of the hole is of the form

(_____)

with the bending moments applied at the end.

If there is no such chart, is there a better way of modeling this type of problem?

Thank you

the stress concentration due to bending should only be slightly lower than tension ... for a conservative number use your bending stress as tension

i looked into petersen, bending loads reduce the Kt of a hole quite significantly, so the next best guess would be ...
(Kt, slot in tension)*(Kt, hole in bending)/(Kt, hole in tension)
