Stress Concentration Factors

I have been looking through RE Peterson by John Wiley & Sons, Inc. - 1974.

I can not find any stress conc. factors for a round section transferring into a rectangular section.

Has anybody published data in this regard ?

Since the stress concentration is at the interface of the round to square section, and assuming that the square section is somewhat larger than the round section then it may be that you could use round to round as your model. Don't know if this reference will help, but I found it in my Advanced Mechanics of Materials by Seely and Smith.

Thanks Steve. That is what we have done in the past, but wasn't sure if that was industry standard.
